About eBiz

Under the aegis of state government, a government project called eBiz is being pursued whose purpose is to create a one-stop-shop of convenient and efficient services to the investors, businesses and industries.

     Mission of eBiz

The mission of eBiz is to create a business-friendly environment in the country by providing efficient, convenient, transparent and integrated electronic services to investors, industries and businesses in the areas of information on forms & procedures, approvals, clearances and permissions, reporting, filling, payments and compliances throughout the life-cycle.

The key features of the eBiz mission are:
   (a)  Creation of a business-friendly environment
   (b)  A service-oriented approach to the investors, industries and businesses.
   (c)  Catering to all the requirements of businesses for GZB services through their life-cycle.

There are several international examples of G2B services being provided in an efficient and transparent way. eBiz has to be moideled after the best of the initiatives globally in this area, if the mission has to be fulfilled.

     Goals of eBiz

It is necessary to have clear-cut goals and objectives for any e-government project to be conceptualized properly. The following are the set of objectives of eBiz
   (a) To reduce the time for pre-establishment processes
   (b) To provide simplifled forms, procedures and information in a convnient and cost-effective manner
   (c)  To enable event-based, online B2G interactions and transactions
   (d) To establish a single-window mechanism interactions and transactions
   (e) To enhance transparency, speed , certainty & responsiveness
   (f)  To automate workflow in the regulatory departments
   (g) To reduce the burden of compliance by reducing the number of registers and returns
   (h) To rationalize the inspection regime
   (i)  To establish automated systems for online tracking and monitoring of applications, grievance redressal and dispute resolution.

     Common Processes

Customer-centric approach and service-oriented architecture demand that actions and steps required of the customers are simple, uniform, minimal and non-duplicative. This requirement can be met by minimizing the number and complexity of forms and procedures within each agency, mapping the same across agencies, identifying commonalities, eliminating duplication across agencies and eventually coming up with a set of streamlined processes that have uniform look and feel across all agencies. For instance the procedures and processes connected with the following categories of services can be redesigned to be redesigned to be uniform across all agencies.
   (a) Registration
   (b) Filing of forms, returns
   (c) Payments
   (d) Requests for permissions, approvals, licenses
   (e) Seeking information and records
   (f) Tracking the status of requests
